Replacing a boiler isn’t just a case of swapping one box for another. I’ll look at your existing boiler, heating system and how you use your home before discussing the options available.
Where appropriate, I’ll also advise on heating controls and any improvements worth considering as part of the installation — without recommending work you don’t need.
You’ll receive a clear quotation before any work is booked.

I regularly install Vaillant ecoTEC boilers and can offer different boiler and control options depending on your property, heating requirements and budget.
Current Vaillant guarantee options include extended guarantees on eligible installations, with up to 10 years available on suitable ecoTEC installations when the relevant requirements are met.
I’ll explain the available options when quoting so you can choose the setup that suits you.
Guarantee terms and eligibility are subject to the manufacturer’s current requirements.
System boilers & unvented cylinders
For homes with more than one bathroom or higher hot water demand, a combi boiler isn’t always the best option. Where the incoming mains water supply is suitable, a system boiler with an unvented hot water cylinder can provide strong hot water performance to multiple outlets.
I’ll assess the existing system, incoming water supply and how hot water is used in the property before discussing the most suitable options.
What’s included with a boiler installation?
A typical boiler replacement includes:
- New boiler and flue
- System filter
- Normal installation materials
- Choice of suitable heating controls
- Chemical flush of the heating system
- Inhibitor added on completion
- Boiler commissioning and safety checks
- Manufacturer guarantee registration
- Gas Safe / Building Regulations notification
Following notification, a Building Regulations Compliance Certificate is issued for the installation.
If the heating system requires more extensive cleaning, powerflushing is also available and can be discussed before the work is carried out.

I’m still here after the installation
Once the installation is complete, I’ll show you how to use the boiler and heating controls and answer any questions you have.
Annual boiler servicing is also available, so if you’d like me to continue looking after the boiler, you can deal with the same engineer who installed it rather than having to find somebody else each year.
Regular servicing helps keep the boiler working safely and efficiently and is also normally a condition of maintaining the manufacturer’s guarantee.

How long does it take to replace a boiler?
A straightforward boiler replacement can often be completed within a day, although installations involving relocation or alterations to the existing heating, gas or flue arrangements can take longer. I don’t rush an installation simply to get it finished within a day — if a little more time is needed to complete the work properly, I’ll return to finish it.
Do I need to replace my radiators when I get a new boiler?
Not normally. I’ll consider the condition and suitability of the existing heating system when looking at the job and advise you if anything needs attention.
Do you powerflush every heating system?
No. A chemical flush is included as standard with my boiler installations. A powerflush is available where the condition of the system means a more thorough clean would be beneficial, or if you specifically want one.
What heating controls can I have?
There are several options available, from straightforward programmable controls to smart controls. I’ll explain the suitable choices when quoting so you can decide what works best for you.
What guarantee will my new boiler have?
This depends on the boiler and installation package chosen. Vaillant ecoTEC boilers can be supplied with extended guarantee options, including up to 10 years on eligible installations. I’ll confirm the applicable guarantee before you decide.
Can you service the boiler afterwards?
Yes. Annual servicing is available after installation, so you can continue using me to look after the boiler in future.
