Welcome to the blog section of my website.  My name is Paul, your friendly local plumber in Leeds.  Over the coming months I’ll be using this section to add useful information. I’ll cover information about combi boiler installations, heating systems, power flushing and all kinds of plumbing and heating repairs.  I will try to keep it relevant to frequently asked questions from customers and potential customers through the website.  So if there’s anything you’d like to know that you can’t find on the website please get in touch and I’ll try to help.

A bit about me – a plumber in Leeds

I grew up in the North Yorkshire town of Northallerton, where when leaving school I set out to become a Gas Safe registered plumber. My plumbing career started as an apprentice working for local firm G Fawcett LTD. I attended Redcar and Cleveland college, where over the coming years I became fully qualified.  I gained an NVQ level 3 in Mechanical Engineering services (Plumbing) Gas option.  Other qualifications I picked up along the way include water regulations and unvented cylinders.  Since leaving college I regularly go on all types of courses to keep up to date with the latest boilers.

Plumbing & heating experience

I worked for a number of companies as a plumber after leaving college, picking up a wide range of experience.  The type of work I gained experience in included all types of installation and maintenance work in plumbing and heating.  I worked for North Yorkshire Plumbing services where I worked on everything from small plumbing repairs to full heating installations.    When the owner of the company emigrated to New Zealand I moved onto new builds in Leeds.  This was carrying out unvented hot water cylinder installations and bathroom installations.

Going alone – combi boiler installations, central heating and plumbing

After moving to Leeds where my wife and I are now settled, I set up Paul Scurfield Plumbing & Heating in 2011. I felt that the time was right and I had enough experience to provide a high quality service as a plumber in Leeds.  I’ve always enjoyed the fact that plumbing and heating is such a wide subject.  No two days are ever the same and although I now specialise in combi boiler installations and other types of boiler installations in Leeds, I will always have time for the wide variety of plumbing and heating jobs, large or small.
